Big scare today!

Callum is my very sweet boy. I love him with all of my heart. He has been nursing a cold alongside Harmon and I, but we thought he was getting over the worse of it. We were wrong. Yesterday afternoon he became very colicky and it continued to get worse as the night progressed. We put him to bed and with in an hour he was crying uncontrollably. His breathing was labored and he had a high fever. We brought him into the pediatrician's office first thing this morning and he was only satting oxygen at 70%. They tested him for RSV (negative) and gave him a breathing treatment. Afterwords his saturation raised to 90%. Had it not he would have been admitted to the hospital. Ultimately they have determined he has bronchitis. It is serious but with breathing treatments at home and lots of TLC he should be fine.

It humbled me today. I realize my kids have been relatively healthy (besides the whole NICU thing) and we take it for granted. It makes me want to hold all my children a little tighter and be more grateful for all that God has given me!

  1. Poor Callum (and poor mama!) :( I'm SO glad he didn't have to be hospitalized. Quick healing to all of you!
